Odessa Port Plant
The HMO is currently 100% state owned. The company produces prilled urea. Production capacity - 1100 tons per day - the productivity of one installation. It is in the status of privatization 2020. In the world there are about a dozen ammonia pipelines that go beyond the technological sites of chemical enterprises. The most powerful ammonia pipeline with a capacity of up to 2.5 million tons per year is Togliatti-Odessa. Transammiak OJSC operates the Russian section of the ammonia pipeline, the Ukrainian section of the ammonia pipeline operates the Ukrkhimtransammiaq UGP, the terminal section of the ammonia pipeline is the Odessa Port Plant. The first phase of the ammonia pipeline was put into operation in October 1979 - the 800-kilometer section of the Gorlovka-Odessa pipeline. To cross the Dnieper, a unique suspension passage with a span of 720 meters was designed and built. The pipeline was completely completed in 1981. In addition, in places of increased danger, as well as in close proximity to water bodies, the principle of "double pipe" was applied. In these sections of the wall, both the inner (main) and outer pipes, which provide additional protection against corrosion, can withstand very high pressures. The thickness of the pipes increases to 13 mm, and nitrogen is contained between the pipes. To increase safety, sections of the ammonia pipeline located under the railway track and highways are covered with a special steel coating. Corrosion is eliminated thanks to the insulating coating and electrochemical protection. Even from the inside, the pipeline is protected: the transported product is a mixture of ammonia and water in a ratio of 99.6% -0.4%. This small percentage of water prevents the oxidation of the metal of which the pipe is made. In places where the pipeline comes to the surface, temperature compensators are located. The Togliatti-Odessa ammonia pipeline was laid at a depth of 1.4 m. For comparison: oil workers are often limited to 80 cm. In addition, Soviet GOSTs prescribed that there should not be a single settlement within a kilometer radius from the pipe. Ammonia is transferred from ToAZ to the Odessa port plant to the city of Yuzhny, where it is loaded into tankers and transported abroad. The total length of the pipeline is 2417 km, of which 1021 km pass through the territory of Ukraine. Ammonia pipeline capacity up to 2.5 million tons per year. Ammonia is in a liquid state under pressure up to 35 atmospheres with a temperature of 4oC.production and transshipment of ammonia and urea.
